Orlando Storm Forum 2016

May 2, 2016

This year, UCF’s Department of Utilities and Energy Services partnered with local municipalities, law enforcement, first responders, and Duke Energy to participate in Orlando Storm Forum 2016.

This forum, hosted by Duke Energy in Lake Mary Florida, provided panel discussions and allowed utility directors, mutual aid coordinators, insurance agencies, distribution and transmission line-workers, police chiefs, and utility partners to review best industry practices, network with fellow utility peers, and discuss protocols that impact major outages not only in Central Florida, but also at the state and federal level. The keynote speaker was Mr. Alex Glenn, Duke Energy’s Florida state president.

Hurricane season is upon us with one name tropical depression already impacting central Florida in early June.
